Created in 2012, the Vesta Secretary Desk is the first piece of furniture I made after graduating from the Ecole Boulle in 2011. I designed it as a continuation of the Genesis Armchair and used contemporary composite materials.
I designed The Vesta Secretary Desk with elegance and contrast in mind. I thought of it as a shirt collar with two well-cut sides that fold down smoothly to form an elegant curve above the top. Like a shirt, this desk requires a clean and precise cut, meticulous construction technique, and a sensual and warm touch.
I combined Corian, a white resin that is worked like plastic but is hard like stone, with dark American walnut to accentuate the desktop’s line.
