Each piece from the Fusion collection is composed of several strips of laminate American walnut wood which diverge, meet and ultimately merge together. The molding is done once; all the slats are molded at the same time so that the entire movement of the curves is fluid and consistent.

Halfway between the Ellipse Console and the Möbius Bench from my Ribbon Collection I created the Ellipse Bench, a dual material bench with a twisting and kinetic base made of American walnut slats. The flexible and elongated shape of the base contrasts with the solid oak top sculpted like a pebble. The idea was to create a contrast between the materials, a fusion of two wood species, two techniques – glued laminated wood and wood sculpture – and two aesthetics.
The Ellipse Bench can be made to measure with a top and a base made of different or identical wood species and color.
The Ellipse Bench was first unveiled during the collection’s launch by the maison parisienne gallery during Paris Design Week 2021.
